This event took place on the 4th of July.
Received an invitation in facebook to visit this place, which was in fact a hill located in Kajang. The name of the hill was Broga Hill. The dawn of July the 4th, waited at my secondary school to pick up two bargers and was expecting to see more people but they some how couldn't turn up in the end.
Left the garden at around 5.30 a.m. Drove my old but handy and useful Iswara. Brought along my ever useless gps. Well, it was silent all the way just showing the names of the highways and roads that we were traveling on. It wasn't at all useful.
Took the highway to Sri Petaling. Traveled further and was heading for Kajang and also Johore Bahru. The journey wasn't that long when we had to travel on the trunk roads to get to the place.
Sincere apologies for not being able to show any photos. First thing, we were lost like lost souls. Luckily the signboards were clear and not misleading. We followed the signs leading us to Semenyih.
The hill is located near to a rabbit farm. The path leading into the foot of the hill was one hell of a bumpy ride. Pity the chassis of my sedan. If only I can contact the authorities, I would recommend that they fully resurface and tar the road where parking is concern. Out of desperation, we parked at the roadside near by the entrance to the hill.
You'll get to see Nottingham University on the way up. The smell of rubber was strong. Heard near by was a rubber estate and a factory which manufacture rubber materials.
We brought along our torch light and also some snacks. The foot of the hill was a bumpy one and further we climbed, the steeper it gets. A few meters up, we had to go through a rocky path. Not long ahead, we reached an area where there was a land-scape of a waterfall and the walking path becomes narrower and narrower.
At that point of time, my body and legs became heavy. There was a lot of pressure and the most screwed up part was I didn't have anything in the morning. My stomach was empty. Sat on a rock and started to get restless. My other two friends were still on their feet but I had to give up. They didn't continue with their quest to reach the first phrase of the hill and they pulled back.
Jin Aun helped me with the supply of food and also with some water. Rested for at least 10 minutes due to the pressure and also tiredness, we later decided to call it a day and urgent down again to the foot of the hill. It is even more challenging going down the hill as some techniques have to be applied and the steps are different where the direction of steps are more side-by-side footing.
We took about 5 minutes to get down and when we were almost reaching the foot of the hill, it was already bright day light. There was a drink stall near by. Ordered a can of 100 plus to revitalized myself.
We changed our sweaty clothes and headed back to Kuala Lumpur. Went to Kuchai Lama to have breakfast. Ordered dim sum and a cup of milo ice. Headed home and had a good rest. Slept the whole afternoon.
Gary and Jin Aun decided to head up there again, this time prepared. Wait for the second part of Broga Hill. Stay tune.
